KYOCERA Provides Solar Power Generating System for Palau’s Largest Solar Project
Island nation’s airport to be powered by the sun
Kyoto / Neuss − Kyocera Corporation announced that it has supplied a solar power generating system for the Republic of Palau international airport — the 226.8kW solar installation is the largest to be completed on the island nation located roughly 500 miles east of the Philippines. The design and implementation of the parking lot solar project was a joint collaboration between Kyocera and Wakachiku Construction Co., Ltd., which was realized with funding by the Japanese government’s Official Development Assistance (ODA) to help contribute to the country’s growth.

New Environmental Agreement passed by PV CYCLE
Kyoto / Neuss − The Japanese technology company Kyocera, one of the leading manufacturers in the field of photovoltaics (PV), has signed on as a full member to the PV CYCLE’s new Environmental Agreement. The third Environmental Agreement strengthens the Europe-wide system for the take-back and recycling of PV modules with more stringent self-regulations. The goal of the agreement is to achieve a recycling rate of 85% of materials contained in modules by 2020.

Kyocera supplies 8,500 modules for 2-MW solar plant in France
New mega solar power plant inaugurated today
Kyoto / Neuss − 8,500 solar modules on four acres of wasteland: these are the dimensions of the new solar power plant, which was officially inaugurated today in Distré, in the French department of Maine-et-Loire. The mega-complex is a flagship project in terms of sustainability: the Kyocera KD235 solar modules installed produce an average total energy of 2.2 GWh per year of environmentally-friendly electricity — equal to the average annual energy consumption of 900 households. Furthermore, the clean-energy power plant will off-set roughly 700 tons of CO2 per year.

New certification and warranty extension for solar modules
Kyoto / Neuss − Quality assurance and transparency is of great importance to the Japanese technology company Kyocera. Recently, the European factory of the world-renowned major corporation for photovoltaic systems in the Czech Republic has been certified by TÜV Rheinland with the certificate of origin "Made in Europe". Also new: since the beginning of October, the product warranty is now valid for 10 years, which is twice as long as before. Furthermore, Kyocera’s solar modules have been certified by the Japanese JET Institute according to Standards of the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC).
